One of our visions at Panterra is to promote cultural interaction. When people of different cultures connect, there comes an unspoken understanding of our shared humanity. I believe that ending world poverty and creating harmony begins with each of us, and how we choose to live our lives. While alone we may not be able to change the world but together we can make a difference, even if it is enhancing the lives of a handful of communities and assisting in the protection and conservation of our threatened wildlife.
Our Mission is to bring people together to share in fostering cultural understanding, the well-being of community, and environmental awareness. We have no political or religious affiliations but that does not mean we are not all working together towards a common goal; peace, harmony, and shared humanity. Our adventure travel with a purpose expeditions make a lasting impact that changes lives and provides participants with one of the most rewarding experiences of a lifetime.
In saying this, how do we accomplish our vision and mission?
In 2000 we initiated the Baja Gifts Program. The response was incredible! All it took was one small shoebox (approx. value of goods $10.00) from each participating guest on an expedition and it has led to children pursuing studies and art in communities that normally did not have access to or could not afford the materials for their kids to pursue further learning.
In 2009, we initiated the Journey of Giving expedition. During this trip we bring medical and dental teams from both Mexico and Canada, on board the M.V. Adventure, to remote communities that would not otherwise receive health care services, could not afford to pay for it or would have to travel for hours by boat to get basic care in the city.
In 2010, we initiated two Wildlife Conservation Projects which allows us to assist in research and conservation of sea turtles and whale sharks in the Sea of Cortez.
On all of our expeditions we endeavor to include the Baja Gifts Program and, at least one, of the two Wildlife Conservation Projects. This is Panterra’s “Adventure Travel With a Purpose”.
If you want an unique experience that is fun and rewarding for your whole family, our all inclusive “Adventure Travel with a Purpose” programs are exactly what you are looking for.
Our Sea of Cortez expeditions leave from La Paz, Baja California Sur Mexico. La Paz is a few hours north of the famous Cabo San Lucas and south of scenic Loreto.
