My wife and I had the joy of experiencing a recent expedition with Panterra as we were looking for something different for the two of us during part of our time in Mexico. We looked at a number of options and decided that part of our holiday would include a Panterra excursion.

When we arrive at the “MV Adventure” ship we await for our other guests which totalled only 15. We had a diversity of guests from various locations including Maine, Vancouver, Orange County, Duncan B.C., Philadelphia, Brentwood Bay B.C. and Fremont California.

Amongst the potential activities to behold are exploring sea caves, whale watching (gray whales, hump back whales and possibly a rare sighting of about 100 pilot whales), dolphin gazing (which we saw an estimated 4,000 in one pod), swim with whale sharks, a large colony of sea lions basking on their own island, marine birds (amongst them were frigates, blue herons, pelicans and our favourite the blue footed boobies), turtles, breathtaking private beaches, hiking expeditions and visit a remote island with a family that has lived there for 100 years. Time and nature are the only question as to which ones you can actually get to or see.

Along with this you get a chef, Omar, who creates mouth-watering, tantalizing meals for us to enjoy and a certified lifeguard, Guri, who kept us safe and has lots of stories to tell. In fact, all the crew ensured that we were looked after both on the big boat and on the little panga’s. After all this and coming back to shore we have a great meal together at a local restaurant.

It is hard to say what was the best part of this excursion, the scenery is outstanding, the wild life is amazing and abundant, the food is exceptional, the water and/or shore trips on the panga’s are thrilling and Lela and her crew are wonderful. You cannot get this type experience anywhere else and I don’t think anybody else offers this. I must add that above and beyond all of this is the exceptional friendships that were gained from the other guests was the icing on top. Who will ever forget “Happy Beaver”! Come and enjoy the excursion with Lela, crew and the MV Adventure through Panterra.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and highly recommend this to others.
