Information: Land/water based. Day trip. Early rise! Magdalena Bay is world renowned for gray whale interaction with humans. It is one of three nurseries and breeding grounds of the Pacific gray whales. During the months of Dec – Mar. the gray whales, after a 5000 mile migration south, gather in the protected lagoons where breeding or birthing takes place. Glimpse into the mysterious world of these amazing cetaceans. Note: Our Gray Whale day trips are private and opened to guests booked by Panterra only. We place a maximum 6 guests + naturalist per panga not the normal 8 - 14 people. Our trips are 3 hours in length in the area of the gray whales and not the normal 2 hours. Includes:

Information: Water based. Day trip. The Bay of La Paz is one of the most important feeding areas in the world for juvenile whale sharks. As the largest fish in the world they can be found feeding on the surface allowing the snorkelers to approach and swim alongside. They are docile, harmless and beautiful, allowing for an amazing up close and personal experience. Our professional guide will instruct and be in the water alongside you to ensure you have a safe and memorable experience. Good swimming skills are required. Roundtrip transportation from the hotel to the marina, snacks and beverages are included. Crew gratuity not included. Guests will be required to sign a standard industry waiver prior to departure.

Information: Water based. Day trip. Snorkel, visit a sea lion colony and explore the treasures of this magical island. The island of Espiritu Santos is said to be the most beautiful island in all of the Sea of Cortez. Its crystal blue waters allows for some amazing snorkeling with an abundance of marine life. If you are snorkeling guests are require to have good swimming skills. Includes: Roundtrip transportation from the hotel to the marina, lunch, beverages and snacks are included. Not included park fees (approx. $5.00 USD) and crew gratuity. Guests will be required to sign a standard industry waiver prior to departure.

Information: Land based. Day trip. Our destinations are San Antonio and El Triunfo. San Antonio offers easy hiking on the newly developed trails through the ranchlands. Bird watching and visit to a local ranch allows you to learn about the history of the area and to explore an abundance of desert life. After San Antonio visit El Triunfo for the mining museum and enjoy lunch (guest responsibility) at one of the local restaurants.

Information: Head up into the mountains of the Sierra de la Laguna and visit a local ranch and hike the ranch trails. Enjoy a soak in the natural hot springs and end the tour with lunch (guest responsibility) and one of the local restaurants on your return. Breathtaking scenery with ample photography opportunities. Information: Land based. Day trip. Early rise! The Sea of Cortez plays host to the birth of millions of sea turtles. From June through to Nov. females return to the birthing place to lay there clutches of eggs. Turtle conservationists collect the clutches (nests) and relocate them to a safe, controlled environment until they hatched. Once hatched they are immediately released back to the sea. 1 in 1000 hatchlings will survive. After the turtle release enjoy breakfast at one of the local restaurants, time for shopping, and a return trip through a stunning back area filled with breathtaking scenery and bird watching.

Information: Travellers visit Copper Canyon for Mexico’s only passenger train that took 100 years to build. It traverses 87 tunnels and 37 bridges. It is an incredible feat of engineering. Lots of options for hiking, exploring local culture, or just relaxing with a drink from your room with a view beyond words. Experience the mysterious life of the Raramuri indigenous people of the barefooted “Born to Run” fame. The Raramuri artisans offer their handcrafted weaved baskets, carved wooden figures and more. Information: Our transportation service offers friendly and professionally trained staff fully licensed and experienced. The vans are up-to-date models including 14 passenger Toyota Hiace, 11 passenger Hyundai Starex and 10 passenger Econoline. Our vans are clean, full-size coaches with federal tourist plates, commercial insurance and all necessary permits for pick up/drop off at hotels and airports. Transfers are tracked through driver communications. Safety and comfort are our highest priority. Transfers operate between the hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. We do not transfer guests during non daylight hours due to hazards of livestock feeding along and crossing the highway in unfenced areas. As an alternative, Eco Baja Tours is a public shared airport shuttle from Cabo Airport (SJD) to downtown La Paz. It is much less expensive. The costs are approx. $35 USD one way / $70 roundtrip, per person. While I use the shuttle myself from time to time I have had problems and therefore hesitant of taking responsibility to book on guest's behalf. Overall rating of this service is 3.5 out of 5.
