Puerto Chale – An early start leads to one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters. From December through March, Pacific gray whales complete a 5,000-mile migration to Magdalena Bay, a protected nursery and breeding ground. Spend 3–4 immersive hours observing these magnificent cetaceans in their natural habitat alongside a professional naturalist.
Private trips exclusively for Panterra guests feature small-group panga excursions of 4 – 12 guests, allowing for an extended 3–4 hours on the water. The experience includes round-trip transportation from La Paz, a ranchero-style breakfast en route, and 3–4 hours of whale and birdwatching with a professional naturalist; lunch and crew gratuities are not included. All guests must carry a valid passport or Mexican government–issued ID, as a roadside immigration checkpoint is required. Transportation from areas outside La Paz (Cabo and East/West Capes) is available for groups of 4 or more—please contact our office for details.
