El Llano del Caballo – Introduction

DATE:  Dec 15 - Mar 15, 2024  |  Gray Whales and Desert Adventure Camp Glamping - Land and sea day trips

Camp Ceseña by Panterra has been set up to service the gray whale tourism season. It is situated at marker 98 on the main highway north of La Paz, half way between La Paz and Puerto Chale, Madalena Bay. The camp is approximately one kilometer off the highway and can be accessed by car. Our van transportation is available as part of the courtesy service to Mag Bay and  other activites offered by Panterra. The area is great for hiking and tours to explore archaeological, paleontological, and historic sites. By night enjoy world-class stargazing or relax in the social area where guests are welcomed to mingle with other guests and engage in social activities such as cards, cribbage, backgammon and more. Camp Ceseña is an extension of Loncheria Lupita, which is owned by the Ceseña Family.

The camp is situated amidst the stunning desert landscapes of Ejido San Hilario. It’s glamping style lodgings offers guests the chance to immerse themselves in traditional Mexican culture while enjoying all the rustic comforts of home (including a real bed).
The camp is not somewhere you would come to sit around all day. There is so much to explore, discover and learn on our guided tours. Your leisure time comes after the days activities when guests join us in the social area for beverages and appetizers before dinner, stargazing and an amazing nights sleep in the cool air of the desert night. You would be surprised!

These experiences are a droplet in the ripple of richness of the culture, land and sea that Mexico has to offer. The Ceseña family, your hosts in partnership with Panterra reflect the traditional, raw beauty of the Baja.

We acknowledge and thank the Ejido San Hilario community on whose traditional lands we teach, learn, research, live and share knowledge.
