This was a well planned and executed cruise by a competent staff. The Naturalist, Lela Sankeralli, was 100% concerned with the guests comfort and experience. She is a knowledgeable lover of the Sea of Cortez and was complimented by Cultural Geologist, Myra, who brought her knowledge and helped with all activities. We liked the small group size (8 guests), the delicious food and the attentive staff. We loved our cabin. While this was a pricey cruise, for us, we would definitely recommend it as worth the experience and the lasting memories.
Eco Cruise adventure of a lifetime
March 2025 My husband and I had the pleasure and privilege to accompany 3 other new-to-us adventure minded couples to explore the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez) for 4 glorious days in the luxury of a 120 foot yacht with all the comfort and amenities one could think of or anticipate. A delightful departure from a land tour, the cruise crew ensured each guest was pampered and catered to. All manner of water activities were offered. Some of us fished, some kayaked, others snorkeled in the picture postcard azure waters and white sand beaches and others hiked with Lela, Naturalist and our guide and Maya, the on-board geologist. When we weren’t ‘playing’, enrichment excursions from the ship in a 21 foot tender with Lela and Maya allowed us to closely view and learn about the sea lion colony, the mangroves for a host of bird and aquatic life and to see the islands close-up for unique geological features. Lela and Maya were passionate in their field of expertise and willingly shared their knowledge. Our March 2025 cruise adventure coincided with the Blood Moon lunar eclipse. It was a magical occasion to share this phenomenon with the other cruise guests, now our friends, in the vastness of the sea with a stellar sky backdrop. Lela is an exceptional nature photographer. Her skill in capturing the best images of wildlife, still and in motion, has been honed by years of experience that allowed us to appreciate the subject in real time with the naked eye…..and not through a camera lens. That Lela forwarded to us the best of her best images, for us gifted in this regard, was a much appreciated gesture. The crew attended to every physical detail and our safety was a top priority. This Panterra cruise adventure was a highlight of a lifetime. From the dolphin escort out of the bay, scouting for mobulas and whales on the aft deck with other guests, can’t embellish on what was perfect in every way.
